POMPEI è MUSICA: SECOND SEASON OF CONCERTS AT THE AMPHITHEATRE OF POMPEII FROM 27 JUNE TO 5 AUGUST 2025
14 live performances featuring international and Italian artists across various music genres, from classical to pop.
From June 27 to August 5, 2025, the musical season at the Archaeological Park of Pompeii launches with fourteen live concerts in the amphitheatre, showcasing renowned artists from both Italy and abroad. The series opens with two concerts by tenor Andrea Bocelli, followed by a performance from conductor Riccardo Muti in late July. Following this, the festival “BOP – Beats of Pompeii: Dove la musica è cultura will offer a star-studded array of artists from diverse genres at the amphitheatre: Nick Cave, Jean-Michel Jarre, Wardruna, Ben Harper, Bryan Adams, Dream Theater, Stefano Bollani, Gianna Nannini, Antonello Venditti, Serena Rossi and Jimmy Sax. This event promises a rich journey across genres and styles, combining music, tourism, culture, and history in an extraordinary setting.
The Pompeii amphitheatre, a symbol of both ancient and modern history, will transform into a lively venue pulsating with life through the medium of music. This iconic location hosted a historic concert by Pink Floyd back in 1971, solidifying its status as one of the most memorable sites for live performances in our collective memory.
This concert series is supported by the Italian Ministry of Culture and the Archaeological Park of Pompeii, in collaboration with the Pompei city council and Regione Campania (the regional government of Campania). The artistic director of the BOP festival is Giuseppe Gomez, with technical organization handled by Blackstar Entertainment and Fast Forward.

“With UNESCO, we often refer to intangible heritage, obviously including music,” emphasizes Gabriel Zuchtriegel, the Park Director. “However, all cultural heritage should be regarded as intangible, including archaeological sites and monuments. The tangible aspect that necessitates care provides the foundation for their tangible, or as it’s usually referred to, ‘spiritual’ aspect; in essence, they transform our lives through encounters with the Other, both historically and presently. Integrating music at Pompeii isn’t merely an additional initiative but central to our mission to protect, explore, and ensure access to archaeological treasures. We aspire to set an example for other cultural sites that, despite their beauty, aren’t fully realized in their transformative potential for the entire community.”
“The intersection of music and archaeology has always captivated artists, musicians, philosophers, and writers, especially in exploring the relationship between art and sound, and the emotional resonance of color and musical notes. That Pink Floyd performed in the Pompeii amphitheatre exemplifies how music can harmoniously intertwine with the arts. Wassily Kandinsky, a pioneer of abstract art, suggested that painting is akin to music, capable of expressing emotions in an abstract format. THE CONCERTS
Andrea Bocelli: June 27 and 28, 2025 (starts at 9:30 pm)
The legendary tenor will headline two concerts held at the Pompeii amphitheatre on June 27 and 28, 2025, accompanied by the Orchestra I Filarmonici di Napoli and the That’s Napoli choir, under the baton of Carlo Morelli, facilitated by Dr. Alberto Terilli for public relations and institutional engagements.
The concert is organized by DuePunti Eventi in collaboration with Klassics Music Management and Almud Edizioni Musicali, in conjunction with the Archaeological Park of Pompeii and supported financially by the Pompei city council.
